Items that all cat parents must have at home!
We’ve tried a lot of things in the 13 years we’ve had Mylo and Otis! Trying to be as eco-friendly as possible, along with keeping our home clean! The last thing I have ever wanted was a home. You can tell as soon as you walk in that they have a cat. I HATE walking into homes that have cats and immediately smelling the cats.
WORLDS BEST LITTER (unscented)
The amount of litter we have tried is HIGH! We wanted a litter that didn’t track much, contained the smell, and the cats didn’t mind the feel on their paws. After all the testing, we found the World Best being the freaking queen of litter! We’ve tried a few of theirs, and the unscented was best! The lavender smelled terrific but, the cats didn’t like it!
How did we test?
In our old apartment, we had TWO litter boxes in the bathroom, and we put each litter in the pans. They rarely used the lavender pan.
PLUSH TOYS
Mylo and Otis have been SUPER picky about which toys they’ve liked to play with over the years. These Dyno Plush Toys are BY FAR their favorite! They cuddle them, play on their own with them and seek them out!
AIR PURIFIER
I got this mainly because our apartment kept smells lingering in our bedroom. This helped so much! But, I continued to use it to keep the cat smell down, along with helping keep the hair in control a bit. I keep it in the cat room, and the scent is minimal! I can read in there you wouldn’t know the litter box is just feet away from me. This LEVOIT Air Purifier is excellent and a must-buy for everyone, even if you don’t have pets!
WATER FOUNTAIN & PURIFER
Mylo and Otis have both had urinary tract infections, and Otis has even had PU Surgery. So we needed to ensure they kept hydrated with good water. This fountain is budget-friendly, and it has had them drinking more water! We use purified water with a Berkey Filtration system. But, this also filters out things that may fall into it, like hair, bugs, lint, etc.
CLEANING SPRAY
When you have a pet, messes are inevitable! Cats puke no matter how healthy they are! The older they get, the more messes! We’ve had pee and poop in our apartment! This spray has been the VERY best that we’ve used! It covers the smell, cleans AMAZINGLY, and deters them from peeing in that spot again. (if your pet is spraying, this will prevent them). If you have a pet, get yourself some Rocco and Roxie spray!
CALMING SPRAY & PLUG IN
Feliway Calming Spray & Plug-ins are a must for all pet owners! We plug us in both upstairs and downstairs! Especially when we are out of town, or there is construction happening around our home. It helps keep them calm with all the loud noises around them.
CAT IN A BAG
Oh man, this is a lifesaver for anyone who has a cat that HATES the car or goes to the vet! When Mylo recently got sick, I used this for the first time, and all visits were a breeze! They don’t have to take him out of the bag at all! The Cat in the Bag is a MUST! All the vets loved it too!
