One day I was working at my desk talking to Justin about something and looked up. I noticed that my Grandma’s Christmas Cactus bloomed! Stopped mid-sentence and exclaimed, “IT BLOOMED!”
Four years ago I picked up this cactus from my Grandma’s house, and this was the first time it’s bloomed. I just sat there for a bit staring at it, with tears in my eyes.
My Grandma died a few days before we left for Hawaii and this bloom during this whole Covid craziness meant a lot.
Since it first bloomed I look at it multiple times a day. It’s like my Grandma is telling us that it’s going to be OK.
How do I care or my Christmas Cactus?
I am not a professional when it comes to planting care, but I do have a little bit of green thumb. I want to share what I have done to help this plan grow. I have killed one before this so I made sure to do a little research to ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
Where do I place my Christmas Cactus?
I have it on a shelf above my desk where it doesn’ t get direct light and ensures it gets at least 12-14 hours of light per day.
How often do I water my Cactus?
Around once a month. I drench it and make sure it drains before places back on the shelf. I do keep an eye on it to make sure the soil is dry before watering. It is a lot like most succulents, you don’t want to overwater it.
Do I feed it fertilizer?
Yes, I do! I feed all my places this amazing fertilizer that has been a game-changer!
