FIVE CAMPING TRIPS PLANNED so far!

We have planned four camping trips for 2021, so far! Where are we going?

2020 was a year we put our life on hold when we returned from Hawaii. We didn’t go anywhere unless it was for work. But, 2021 is going to be different! We have planned one camping trip a month starting in June! So where are we planning on camping in Wisconsin this year?

As I will not tell you when we are going, as we want to ensure our safety. (I am always a bit paranoid). But, these are where we decided to go and we cannot wait! I may be planning a few more smaller trips, but we will seee!

ROCK ISLAND

I have been wanting to take a Ferry for so long and with this trip we get to take TWO! YAY! We are camping for two nights on Rock Island! I cannot wait to wake up drink coffee and see the sunrise over the lake!

We are hoping the island is open this year! It was closed all of 2020 for restoration!

WASHINGTON ISLAND

I recently read that Rock Island my not be open in 2021 due to needing a new dock. So I booked us a rustic cabin on Washington Island just in case. I love small rustic cabins. We don’t need anything fancy, all we need is a toilet close by, a fire pit, and a place to sleep.

NELSON DEWEY STATE PARK

I saw a campsite that over looked a valley on Instagram and had to book that site! Camping sites with a view are always a plus! Especially when you are in the Midwest, as we don’t have mountains! We have bluffs, but it’s just not the same! I cannot wait for this road trip to Nelson Dewey State Park.

A PIZZA FARM!

When I was searching for fun camping locations I found Suncrest Gardens Pizza Farm Camp. Combining pizza and camping, what else could make this even more awesome!? Cannot wait to eat some pizza, watch the sunset and crash in our tent just a few feet away! AMAZING!

YURT IN WISCONSIN

The Yurt Glamping in Wisconsin is something I have been wanting to do for a while! Someday when we have snowshoes I will be renting this Yurt in the winter! This isn’t completely glamping, but it’s still pretty awesome!

WYALUSING STATE PARK

A friend of mine have talked about camping for a while, and I settled on this place. Another campsite that overlooks a valley! I am a sucker for an overlook! I need a place to watch the sunrise or sunset! Wyalusing State Park is going to be a blast with friends!

Wisconsin Camping

Advice about camping in 2021?

Book as early as possible! Camping reservations has risen since the beginning of Covid! And they go quickly! Also, some places are quieter and cheaper during the week! We try to camp Mon-Thurs as much as possible!

Where to Reserve your spot?

  • HipCamp.com – perfect for unique listings and even some rad glamping spots!
  • Wisconsin DNR Website – this specializing in Wisconsin State Park campsites!
  • ReserveAmerica.com – another great place to book your State Park site! Especially if you are looking at more states than Wisconsin!

Things to remember when camping!

  • Practice good LNT Leave no Trace! You don’t have to be perfect, but leave your site closely to how you arrived! If you can leave it better, even more amazing!
  • Do your research before going – know what to bring, will there be water, a toilet, weather, and have the directions ready!
