Honolulu is the biggest city on all the Hawaiian Islands! Travel Guide, Honolulu Hawaii, must do’s and see’s for the massive city!
This blog is a mix of phone photos and a big camera!
Arriving in Honolulu Hawaii, on Oahu at night was the best way to get there, as when we woke up the first morning we were surrounded by mountains! After getting our Jeep, we headed to our friend’s house tucked away in the mountains, just outside the city. We parked a few blocks away, carried our packs up a steep steep hill to be welcomed with a massive hug by our friend Andy! He walked us to his beautiful home where we met his wife Jessica. They so kindly made us some dinner, we were starving! While we ate we discussed our plans for the next few days.
After the helicopter tour, Andy kept the tour going! But, first, we needed some food as we were so hungry! We headed to Konos BBQ for one of the most delicious burritos! We were all too full for dessert, so Andy showed us around the city! If you are even in Honolulu Hawaii, these two places are a MUST GO!
After seeing all these amazing places, we needed a treat, so we stopped at a donut truck! I think of Leonards Donuts ever since getting back! Totally would fly back just to relive those two places again!
I went snorkeling for the first time!
Andy had to get back to work a bit, so we left him at his home to go snorkeling at Kaimana Beach in Waikiki!
I have never gone snorkeling before, but LOVED seeing all the fish below! We saw a lot of rad fish, like a polka dot one! Justin made fun of me because I wouldn’t swim out far. This girl is a tad afraid of swimming in the ocean, as I have gotten swept up in waves before. So I am now afraid I might drown. Oh and sharks 🙂 Haha Next time we are in Hawaii, I will go out farther!
After snorkeling, we changed in the Jeep and walked around downtown Waikiki. It reminded us a lot of Las Vegas, as there were so many shops and people. The people-watching was fun though!
I highly recommend NOT staying in Waikiki! If you do, make sure you get out of the city, the islands are smaller than you think! Get out and explore! Also, Honolulu Hawaii is not very hard to get around at all!
Headed back to Andy’s to shower and find some food. We ate at somewhere SUPER FANCY! The mall food court! We were way too hungry to pick somewhere we just picked food! As soon as we got back to Andy’s we chatted a bit, did some laundry, and then crashed for the night!
