FEBRUARY RECAP! Things I am loving right now!

Food, books and so much more!

How is it March already? I feel like I say that every month? Anyone else? January and February brought a lot of rad things, and March looks pretty damn awesome!

Check out my first book haul of the year here!

The new year looked so bright with Covid cases declining, a mask mandate ending in Dane County, and travel adventures! Then the world threw us a war in Ukraine. My heart and mind felt a lot like they did at the beginning of Covid in 2020. But, this time, I knew how to cope with the anxiety the universe was throwing at me.

READING

I never knew getting back to reading and my morning routine would help calm me. I wake up at 830 every day, make coffee, feed the cats, give Mylo his shot and then shit my butt on the couch and read. Reading while cuddling #MyloandOtis! Here are the books I have just finished reading!

30 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MYSELF

This book was a new one at the library, and it looked interesting! The few lines I read caught me! Her life changed after a night in jail. That’s all I read and wanted to know more. It’s a book about self-love, mental health, and race. It’s like a self-help book that isn’t a self-help book!

WHERE THE WAR ENDS

I screenshot this book a while ago. Not sure who recommended it. But, WOW, this book is beautifully written from a veterans’ point on PTSD. He walked from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Los Angeles to bring awareness to PTSD along with also trying to find a way to “cure” his own PTSD.

If you know a veteran, this book is a must-read.

PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION

A lot of people have recommended this one, so I picked it up at the Stoughton Library. First, the title of this book has nothing to do with what the book is about. Except that she blogs about her travels. Secondly, I didn’t love this book as much as many others did. I knew right away in the first few chapters how the book would go and end. It is a light-hearted love story about two best friends, and if you are looking for a light-hearted fast read for your next vacation. Pick this one up!

SHOWS I LOVE LATELY!

When I start working, usually around lunch I put on Hulu and catch up on some shows. There are some new ones that are a MUST WATCH for sure!

SINGLE DRUNK FEMALE

This show is hilarious and tells a side of the party life that hasn’t been shown before! AS someone who drank a lot in college, this show hits hard at times. But, it is also freaking hilarious!

PIVOTING

Another new show I found on Hulu.com and it’s about three friends who are hilariously pivoting their lives after a friend’s death. It’s the show this late 30s woman needs in her life!

FOOD I CAN’T GET ENOUGH of LATELY

I freaking love food and love trying new things! Especially in my own kitchen!

MARRY ME CHICKEN

I found a recipe like this one month ago and the first time I made it I LOVED IT! It’s like a spicy version of fettuccine alfredo, but BETER! It’s super easy and a good cold-weather dish! We eat it with a side of white rice!
